Abdulrahman, 39 years old, Sudanese national, currently residing in Jordan. Abdulrahman left Sudan and sought refuge in Jordan because of the war and persecution. During the war, he was arrested and subjected to torture and abuse, which caused him an injury to his foot, which made him suffer from great physical and psychological fatigue. He was unable to get rid of the pain he was suffering from due to the lack of appropriate support. Abdulrahman lives in Jordan alone and does not know where his family is due to the war in Sudan. He asked for help from several people, but no one provided him with appropriate support, which increased his psychological fatigue. By browsing through social media, Abdulrahman learned about the Sawaed Al Tagheer Center and the services it provides, which made him visit our center and ask for help.
We at the Sawaed Al Tagheer Center have a comprehensive approach that can serve any beneficiary according to his need due to its integrated approach. We dealt with him with all humanity and accepted him. We developed an appropriate plan for him to solve the problem as soon as possible. The plan included psychological support by raising his awareness, accepting himself, increasing his self-confidence, and accepting the abuse that happened to him during the war so that he could communicate with others in society.
The plan included the psychological and medical aspects and was implemented based on his approval. We also explained confidentiality and privacy to him so that he could feel safe and comfortable. After that, the beneficiary was referred medically and we accompanied the beneficiary to a specialist doctor (orthopedist) and his previous injury was examined and special images were taken. After that, the case was diagnosed as foreign bodies in the foot and an operation must be performed as soon as possible to make the beneficiary in a better condition. Based on that, the operation was performed for the beneficiary by the specialist doctor, as the operation was expensive and beyond the ability of Sawaeed to cover it (Sawaeed covered the medical consultation, medications and X-rays). As for Dr. Omar Kamal, after hearing about our center and the services we provide to the beneficiaries, he undertook to perform the operation himself, which cost about 600 dinars. In order to ensure his safety and health, we stayed with him and purchased the special medication after the operation and to ensure his safety. Based on the approach followed by the Sawaed Al Tagheer Center, we remained in contact with the beneficiary through the case manager to check on his health and psychological condition and if he needed another service. We saw the extent of happiness and satisfaction that the beneficiary felt by receiving the medical service that enabled him to walk on his feet with comfort and ease and without pain. He also thanked us for the psychological support that we provided to him and expressed to us that since his presence in Jordan he had not received this attention before. Based on Abdulrahman's request, a photo of him after the operation was attached to express the extent of his happiness
